A weekend in NYC

Last weekend, Joe and I decided to visit New York City with 2 friends from the Whitehall office of PAREXEL: Sébastien and Christophe. We woke up at 4:40 am on Saturday, drove to DC and parked the car in order to catch a Chinese bus that would take us to NYC. We left DC at 7:30 am and arrived in NYC around noon.

Although it was cold, we had a very sunny Saturday, which allowed us to enjoy the visit and take tons of photos of Ground Zero and the World Financial Center. I couldn't post them all so I picked the nicest ones. On Saturday night, we hung around mostly on 5th and 7th Avenues. On Sunday, we spent some good time in Central Park and took a ferry that swung by Liberty and Ellis Islands.

A single weekend is way too short to visit the Big Apple but we'll definitely go back there at least once or twice during our stay in the US.

Looks like buildings are popping out of the trees!

Lots of squirrels take refuge in the park and would almost come eat in your hand!

First visit of the capital

Today, Joe and I went to visit Washington, DC. It was snowing and very cold, yet awesome. We walked for a while in some of the huge streets crossing the city, near the National Mall, and took photos of the White House. Actually, that wasn't the first time I visited the capital since I went there 1 year ago during my previous internship. We consider going back to DC quite a few times during the stay.

No doubt, we are in the USA

Pictures of my car

My car is a 1998 Ford Escort. I bought it from a previous intern a few days after I arrived in the US. It has belonged to a few generations of French students before me.

Snowy day

It's snowing today. Not a lot but enough to cause the office to close at 3:30 pm. That's the second time I see snow falling in 2 weeks in Centreville. If it doesn't melt until tomorrow morning, the office will be closed for at least part of the day!

Now that you've seen my room, it's time for me to show you the rest of the house.

Here are some pictures of my bedroom. It's pretty comfortable and about twice as big as the one I have in France. Also note that I have my own bathroom, which means the entire floor is mine!

USA, here I come, right back where I started from...

After a successful 6-month internship at PAREXEL International near Boston in 2005, I decided to come back to the USA for a second traineeship. Same host company but different location – this time, I'm working in an office close to Washington, DC, in a town called Centreville.

I decided to create this blog to share pictures of my trip with whoever really cares. Enjoy! ;)
